Join former NCCS Head of Early Childhood Betsy McKenna and local artist-educator Barbara Rucci as they discuss their new book, Art Workshop for Children. Barbara Rucci’s popular art workshops embrace a child-led approach which encourages creative thinking and the wonder that comes when children are allowed to freely explore the creative process and materials. Betsy McKenna will speak about the value of art making with children and share perspectives on mess making, imperfection, the role of the adult, collaborative art and the Reggio Emilia method. Come see examples of completed workshops and learn techniques for cultivating your children’s creativity! Refreshments will be served.
